BBC Good Food Show, Dubai, Sparkles with Star Chefs

BBC Good Food Show in Dubai (17- 19 December 2015) at World Trade Center,brings in celebrity Chefs and culinary inspiration to the region.Buzzingtales got a preview of the star studded event at VIDA and was amazed at the culinary demonstration put together by the funky Silvena Rowe and  the charming Andy Bates (If you have watched him in Food Network you will know what magic he can work and grill-up). Dubai is hosting five of the world’s top chefs at the first International edition of the BBC Good Food Show will which be held in December at the Dubai World Trade Centre.


TV stars James Martin, Paul Hollywood, Andy Bates, Silvena Rowe and Atul Kochhar will headline the new event, running from 17-19 December at the Dubai World Trade Centre and taking place outside of the UK for the first time in the show’s 25-year history.They will be appearing in the show’s Supertheatre, where celebrity chefs will be cooking their favourite dishes in front of a live audience.

Among the celebrity chefs, renowned TV star Silvena Rowe will take to the Supertheatre and share some of her favourite dishes as well as answer questions from the audience at the show. A leading celebrity chef and owner of five Dubai restaurants opened in less than a year, Silvena uses mostly locally sourced and organic Emirati fare, something new and challenging for this region.  One of her restaurants, Omnia Blue, has won Dubai’s favourite healthiest restaurant of the year, followed by the Innovation Chef Award and Top 100 restaurants in UAE. A regular guest on the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Silvena is also known for her interactive demonstrations having worked as a cookery teacher at Mosimann’s Academy of Culinary Excellence.“I am thrilled to be part of the inaugural BBC Good Food Show in Dubai,” said Silvena.  “Participating in the event will give me a chance to show UAE residents a sampling of the healthy dishes that we prepare at Omnia.  I’m always in support of eating healthily and local so I believe this show will be the ideal platform to share my recipes and ingredients with the audience.”


James Martin, Presenter of BBC One’s hugely successful ‘Saturday Kitchen’, will take part in the Supertheatre demonstrations, book signing sessions and the Interview Stage from 17-19 December at the Dubai World Trade Centre.Paul Hollywood, Celebrity Baking star and best-selling author of ‘100 Great Breads’ and ‘How to Bake’; The first Indian chef to receive a Michelin star, the critically acclaimed Atul Kochhar will also be part of the event.Ed Baines, chef and co-owner of Randall & Aubin, one of London’s premier restaurants and author of two best-selling books, Entertain and Best of British, will also be among the esteemed celebrity chefs taking part.Baines’ experiences include a two year apprenticeship with Anton Mosimann at The Dorchester Park Lane in London, working on the Wind Spirit in Monaco and at hotels in Juan-les-Pins and Queensland.  He held positions at both Bibendum and the River Café in London, before becoming the official Armani chef in London and Milan.Baines has also appeared in many mainstream British television cooking shows including his own titled series and is well known for judging seven series of ITV 1’s successful programme ‘Britain’s Best Dish’.

Other than live demonstrations at the Supertheatre, the celebrity chefs will also be taking part in book signing sessions, where visitors can have their personal copies signed, and the Interview Stage hosted by Lotte Duncan, who will also be inviting questions from the audience.

For those seeking culinary inspiration, they can have their questions answered by their favourite chefs as they take to the Interview Stage to give their best cooking tips.  Visitors can also browse through the latest cook books and have their copies signed at numerous Book Signing sessions that will take place daily over the course of the event.Raha Moradi, Event Director of Turret Media, the organisers of the BBC Good Food Show Dubai said: “We are working with the great brands to ensure the very best of festive fare is available to our visitors. Early Bird Super Saver tickets for the show will be available this week with three options to choose from: Super Tickets include guaranteed seats in the Supertheatre; front block tickets are currently AED100, while rear block seats cost AED75 for adults.  Tickets for those under the age of 16 are available at AED50.Standard entry tickets to the show will also be available this week, with early bird offers until 10 November.  Two adult tickets currently cost AED75 – a 50% saving, while two child tickets cost AED37.50.  Visitors buying tickets on the door will pay AED75 per adult and AED35 per child.The VIP Gold tickets cost AED250 during the early bird offer and AED350 on the door.  The VIP Gold package includes VIP seating in the first five rows of the Supertheatre, access to the VIP lounge, a glass of bubbly or a pot of tea, valet parking and complimentary show catalogue.


Dubai food lovers looking for a festive gift or a special treat will also have the luxury of shopping at the BBC Good Food retail area where the very best seasonal and regional producers will be on display across 80 brands.Later, visitors can enjoy a high tea experience at the Tea Salon where they can take a break from all the shopping and treat themselves to English tea and desserts.“Dubai has become renowned for its passion for food and cuisine from around the world and we are confident this show is going to be welcomed wholeheartedly by the army of food lovers here,” said Raha Moradi, Event Director of Turret Media, the organisers of the BBC Good Food Show Dubai. “The calibre of celebrity chefs we are bringing is truly exceptional and we’re looking forward to seeing them create magic in the Supertheatre.”

Ahead of the show, budding bakers have the exciting opportunity to put their skills to the test by entering the ‘Best Cake Design’ competition, sponsored by Lurpak.  The lucky winner will receive a baking hamper worth AED5,000, six months’ Lurpak Cook’s Range products, a High Tea experience for two and signed cookbooks from celebrity chefs Paul Hollywood and Andy Bates. Non-professional baking enthusiasts over the age of 21 simply looking to try their hand at baking are invited to submit their entries online with a sketch or image of previous cakes made by 30 November 2015.
