A musical cabaret, written and performed by Dubai based actor and singer Beth Burrows
The show delves into the lives of the 20th century’s most iconic women: Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. This sisterhood of stunning starlets lit up the silver screen for decades and kept tongues wagging with their scandalous off-screen antics. For one night these femme fatales will live again through Beth as she takes on each iconic woman, performing their songs and shedding light on the shadowy secrets that stalked their careers.

Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre (DUCTAC), the region’s first cross-community creative centre at Mall of the Emirates, is all set to present its brand new series of DUCTAC produced shows featuring leading UAE based artists. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the centre and the series is being launched with a renewed commitment to promote and nurture local talent and build stronger ties with artists and the community at large.
The first season of the “DUCTAC presents” series will open on 14th May with ‘Sirens of the Silver Screen’ a musical cabaret featuring Dubai’s own actor and singer Beth Burrows.
Marking a milestone in the world of entertainment, ‘Sirens of the Silver Screen’ will be the UAE’s first ever celebrity cabaret concept.
“’Sirens of the Silver Screen’ is a whistle-stop tour through the lives of Hollywood’s golden girls, a whirlwind trip down the glamorous red carpet of yesteryear. Creating this show has been an incredible experience; these women have intrigued, shocked and thrilled me in ways I never expected. There is so much more to them than meets the eye – I can’t wait to share their stories” enthused Beth Burrows, the stage star who is also credited with writing the brilliant script for this production.
In a 3 part Act, 25 minutes each, the audience will be transported to a world of Old Hollywood glamour, where fame, fate and misfortune collide.
Following ‘Sirens of the Silver Screen’, DUCTAC has other spectacular shows lined up under its banner for the month of May and June, all showcasing the exceptional talent of professional artists based right here in Dubai. Classical guitar duo Feras Rada and Dina Boukzam will inspire with an eclectic mix of baroque, classical, neo-classical and contemporary music on May 21st. On the same evening, stand-up comedy fans will be treated to rib-tickling entertainment by ‘Nylon’.
Closing the season, DUCTAC will see a comeback of the hugely popular Shakespearean comedy ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ by Vambo Entertainment from June 2nd – 4th. Directed by Ashleigh-May Bawden and produced in honour of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, an all-male cast double up in roles to bring The Bard’s hilarious farce to life in a show that is best described as energetic, raucous and riotous fun for the whole family.
