The brand is a reflection of Bill Bowerman’s vision to redefine athletic footwear. Bill Bowerman, an acclaimed footballer, decorated war hero and a veteran track & field coach was dissatisfied with the running shoes available during the 1950’s. He thus designed a new lightweight, comfortable, durable sports shoes and propelled it into an endearing and iconic pop-culture.
