It hasn’t even been a week since the wrap-up of the second episode, but Chillout Productions are already back with more. Fans are ecstatic as the organizers reveal the veteran rhythm & blues heroes Nine Below Zero Big Band and singer-songwriter JoAnna Lee will perform live on Episode 3 this Friday, 15 December 2017.
Registrations for free admissions and table pre-bookings already open, visit www.jazzgardenseries.com. As expected, the second episode saw thousands of attendees; it was fun packed and another great success. It’s no surprise for Episode 3 to continue the streak especially when they have one of Britain’s most respected R&B and blues bands on the bill. The band, famous for their no-frills, punchy and direct approach, created an exciting new Nine Below Zero Big Band sound after an impressive live debut in 2016.
Joining them is musician JoAnna Lee, who has just released her debut album, So Free, July of this year. She has been paving the way for her songs to be emblazoned upon the lips and hearts of fans in Texas, and now the world over. Another local act will be announced soon to complete the full lineup.
RECAP: Episode 2 started off with the charismatic Dubai-based Irish jazz and theatre artiste Anita Williams, who leveraged a strong, captivating stage presence, drawing the crowd into their natural, enchanting and catchy performances. Her band was outstanding; the artists had the audience on their feet right from the top. One of the highlights of the night was the session by soul trumpeter Lin Rountree and pop/R&B chanteuse Beth Griffith. The duo delivered a fantastic show performing music from original compositions to renditions of various popular songs. Without a doubt, these two multitalented artists were great together. The event ended on a high, with the princess of rhythm & blues Sharrie Williams. She is among the most powerful female vocalists on today’s scene. Her reputation for outstanding vocal performances was apparent; she effortlessly handled the whole spectrum, from a whisper to a scream. Her live shows were incredible and it was easy to see why the organizers selected her once again, making this her third concert in the region.

ABOUT THE JAZZ GARDEN: The much-loved Jazz Garden was initially launched in 2008 as a seven-day sub-event of the Dubai Jazz Festival. Chillout Productions partnered with numerous embassies and cultural authorities in the UAE to bring only the best of jazz and blues from their countries to Dubai. It attracted hundreds of mainstream jazz and blues artists, as well as thousands of fans. Despite being a niche genre, the organizers succeeded in making the free-admission outdoor event popular throughout the region. The last edition of the Jazz Garden was held during the massive Dubai Jazz Festival 2014 hosted in Dubai Festival City. For seven consecutive nights, it drew a daily crowd of 4,000, becoming UAE’s biggest free attraction ever. Subsequently, the festival returned to it’s original home in Dubai Media City. After much consideration, the organizers made the difficult decision to place the Jazz Garden on a brief hiatus due to scheduling conflicts with other events. After three long years of non-stop requests to bring back the most memorable and exceedingly enjoyable event, the organizers rebranded and relaunched the Jazz Garden as a stand-alone multiple events. Featuring internationally acclaimed jazz and blues acts, the long-awaited event returned with a bang! The pilot episode took place last 28th of April 2017 at Habtoor Grand Resort – Dubai Marina, with a great turn out of more than 4,000 attendees.
